Re: Medium is the Message
I was listening to this great show in my car last night ( still didn't make a lot of sense - the ending in particular) but what I was reminded of was how a show from one medium does not usually transfer well to another, I think this is perfect example - it simply would not have had the impact as a ...

Re: Harry Morgan
On April 10th Harry Morgan had his 96th Birthday. YAY!!! 8) Better known for playing Officer Bill Gannon on the 60's DRAGNET TVseries, he did have a couple of appearances on the radio series in 1949. Yeah, he had four or five in a row (or pretty close to it)!!! In a one or two he played a store own...

Re: that's from "exploring tomorrow"
the episode you heard is from "exploring tomorrow", a pretty good series with rambling, quasi-drunken introductions by john campbell. gwangi featured it on his radio review here . Yeah, what was with that, anyway??? It was like the sci-fi version of "The Continental", what with the soft-spoken Camp...

You could also try a few other sci-fi series... 2000 Plus actually beat Dimension X to the airwaves by approximately a month as the first serious "adult" sci-fi show!!! 2000 Plus, however, consists of original shows, whereas Dimension X mainly adapted pre-existing stories by classic sci-fi authors, ...

Re: RE: Favorite D-X or X-1
I don't recall a Dim-X-1 episode about a golfing robot. It sounds like another series. Alain, it does sound like you're being too critical. Some 2000+ are quite good, and Exploring Tomorrow has a couple worth listening to. But the theme and Campbell -- sheesh! (sorry John, you just didn't cut it!) ...

Well, I hear it all the time on "When Radio Was"... some big holkywood star like Jimmy Stewart or Burt Lancaster recreating their role in a movie for a radio broadcast (Director's Playhouse?) so I see no reason why Gloria Golden and "Four-Fisted" Frank Fuddleman wouldn't show up there, from time to ...

The original "Show about Nothing"!!!
I was musing on this recently and came to the conclusion that Vic & Sade had Sienfeld beat by over 50 years!!! There was never a serious moment on V & S, like Sienfeld... it was all about the ha-ha!!! It was all about the minutia that happens to the main characters throughout their daily lives (Geor...

Man... hard to narrow that one down!!! Well, off the top of my head, I gotta go with "Man Gets Caught in Revolving Door"!!! This one hits on a number of levels... first Vic... as the episode opens, he's in fake angry mode telling Sade to pack her valise and leave the house because the meat is not do...

Re: RE: 5-parters vs. 30 min.
Love the 5-parters. problem with the show after the 5-part era is that the show was about 20-25 minutes long. It would have help to have a sponsor for the Bailey's weekly run. There is a big difference from 28 minutes of story down to 22 minutes of story. And a real BIG difference in story at 74 mi...

Re: RE: Time Travel Shows...
Is it just me, or does this sound vaguely like Ray Bradbury's "A Sound of Thunder"???Scott wrote:On X-Minus 1 "Gun For A Dinosaur".
A guy offers safaris to the age of the Dinosaurs so big game hunters can shoot them.
Very good story.
