In the 1940's, NBC had their three popular comedy shows lined up on Tuesday nights. Beginning at 9:30 p.m., it was Fibber McGee and Molly, then Bob Hope followed by Red Skelton. This was to be the regular schedule until the late Forties when Skelton went to Sunday nights for Tide. Hope also lost his longtime sponsor, Pepsodent, and picked up Swan Soap.
