New Gildersleeve book on the way

Post by ThatOldGoat »

Clair Schultz, who wrote the very informative Fibber McGee and Molly: On the Air 1935-1959 has a similar book devoted to the Great Gildersleeve series due to be released on January 31. A bit pricey at $45.00 but if it's as good as the F & M book it should be well worth the price.

Ya, $45.00. Blu-ray's are cheaper than that now.

Amazon has the book for $30.37, with a free $5 in MP3 downloads from its MP3 store. The book is temporarily out of stock, but Amazon will notify buyers of the estimated delivery date when more info is available. The author's Fibber book was so good that I found myself hoping he would do a similar Gildy book -- and here it is.

Woo-Hoo! I had heard that there was a new Gildy book in the works some time ago. Glad to see it's finally here!

Barnes and Noble has the book in electronic form for the Nook reader for $16.49. Amazon and Kobo have the e-book for $21.59

Enjoyed the reading the episode descriptations.
Mr. Schultz does get a little snarky with his comments about Gildy.

Wish there had been more info about the 15 minute episodes and the finale two seasons.

There is an excellent interview with the author on the Nostalgia Digest podcast, which can be found at http://www.nostalgiadigest.com/podcasts.html
